Tryg Solberg named Third Team Academic All-American

HOUGHTON — Michigan Tech Huskies Nordic skier Tryg Solberg has been named to the CSC Academic All-America At-Large Division II Third Team.

Solberg is a graduate student with a 3.93 grade-point average while pursuing a Master of Geographic Information Science. He was named All-CCSA First Team and is the 2025 CCSA Skate Champion. Solberg had four podium finishes and six top 10s. He finished his Tech career with a 20th place finish in the mass start skate at the NCAA Championships, appearing at NCAAs for the second straight season.

CSC Academic All-America candidates must have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA in at least their sophomore year academically and athletically, and they must meet certain sport-specific playing-time requirements. The at-large program covers all NCAA-sponsored sports that do not have their own voting process.

The Division II Academic All-America program is financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Division II Academic All-America program.
