HOUGHTON — Tonight, the Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Michigan Technological University will ignite with music, light, and atmosphere as international violinist Blue Violin unleashes a one-night-only concert that redefines the rock tribute experience. Candlelight: Classic Rock Tribute takes to the Rozsa Center stage at 7 p.m. tonight (Oct 16).

Surrounded by the glow of more than thousand candles, Copper Country audiences will witness the power of legendary rock anthems transformed into cinematic soundscapes–fierce, soulful, and unforgettable. According to a Blue Violin press release, “this is classic rock as you’ve never heard it before.”

With the violin as his weapon of choice, Blue Violin layers sound live on stage using looping, effects, and masterful improvisation. Each performance is a high-wire act of artistry where familiar hits become something entirely new–an electrifying collision of elegance and raw energy.

The evening’s setlist will feature daring reimaginings of rock’s most iconic songs, including:

• Thunderstruck – AC/DC

• Free Bird – Lynyrd Skynyrd

• Devil Went Down to Georgia – The Charlie Daniels Band

• Kashmir – Led Zeppelin

• Footloose – Kenny Loggins

• Stairway to Heaven – Led Zeppelin

More than a concert, Candlelight: Classic Rock Tribute is a full-sensory experience where music, atmosphere, and light fuse together to honor rock’s rebellious spirit while opening the door to something entirely original.
