May 14

• The Copper Country Recycling Initiative will hold its monthly meeting on from 4 – 5:15 p.m.at the Portage Lake District Library, West End Conference Room.  All are welcome to attend.

• Free Soup Supper 3 – 6 p.m. Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 47281 Adventure St, Atlantic Mine, Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Atlantic Mine offers a free supper on the second Wednesday of each month. All are invited to enjoy soup, bread, and a piece of fruit. A vegan option is available.

May 15

• Blood Drive, 3 – 6 p.m. Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital., 205 Osceola St, Laurium. The U.P. Regional Blood Center will hold a blood drive at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium. Walk-ins are welcome

May 17

• Family Fun Fair & Resource Fair. Community members are invited to join Copper Shores Community Health Foundation and Keweenaw Support 4 Healthy Minds at the Family Fun Fair and Resource Fair from noon to 3 p.m.at the Calumet Colosseum. This event is free to attend and open to the public. Community members have the opportunity to connect with local nonprofits, find valuable community resources and enjoy family friendly fun with bounce houses, face painting, raffle prizes and more.

• The Keweenaw Outdoor Recreation Coalition (KORC) will hold its sixth annual Keweenaw Clean-Up and Picnic. This all-ages volunteer event will take place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at locations all over over Keweenaw County.

May 19

• The regular monthly meeting of the Western U.P. Board of Health is 6 p.m. at the Western U.P. Health Department, 408 Copper Street, Ontonagon. The meeting will also be available to attend via Google Meet. Information on connecting to this meeting can be found on the health department’s website, www.wuphd.org.

• Keweenaw Support 4 Healthy Minds monthly meeting, 6:30 p.m at Portage Lake District Library Meeting Room, Houghton.

• Keweenaw Support 4 Healthy Minds monthly meeting, 6:30 p.m. Portage Lake District Library. Keweenaw Support 4 Healthy MInds is a public group, and we welcome anyone interested in our mission:  “to support healthy minds through connection and community.” Our goals are to talk more openly about mental health to reduce stigma, to build a resilient community by educating the public, and to support those at risk for mental health and substance use crises.  We are on Facebook and our email address is ksup4healthyminds@gmail.com.

• Copper Country Community Mental Health Services’ Board meeting will be held at 5:00 p.m. in the Boardroom at Copper Country Mental Health’s Rice Memorial Center in Houghton.
