• Houghton Farmer Market, 3 – 6 p.m. Houghton Downtown Pier. The Houghton Farmers Market features locally grown produce, baked goods and crafts each Tuesday afternoon on the downtown pier.

• Gay Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliar Bazaar & Sales, from noon – 3 p.m. Gay Community Hall 8878 2nd Street, Gay. This is the first sale of the year. We have new items arriving every week and now everything is on the main floor of the Community Center so we are full of goodies for the whole family. Each sale will have a Special Feature, this time, Perennials and Garden Accessories. Also, every sale will have new auction items to bid on. A free will donation lunch will be available for you to enjoy. Come join in the fun, have lunch and take home some good deals!

Learn how William Burt came to invent the sun compass, used to further westward expansion in the U.S., as well as how this surveying instrument relates directly to U. P. history. Suggested donation: $5/person, part of Keweenaw County Historical Society’s “Adventures in History.”
