• Alberta Fest, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Ford Center and Forest, L’Anse. Alberta Fest features crafters and vendors, a car show, music and activity booths in the historic hamlet of Alberta.
June 29
• Old Victoria’s Log Cabin Day Heritage Celebration, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.The free event celebrates Michigan’s Log Cabin Day with an open house of the restored miner’s cabins that were originally built in 1899. Visitors can hear stories of the lives of the miners and their families while touring restored hand hewn log cabins and rebuilt sauna. The day features fresh, made-from-scratch cinnamon rolls that are baked on site by volunteers in the old-fashioned wood stove. At 1:30, old-fashioned kids games invite all ages to join in the fun of various races and sports.

• Range Lions Blueberry & Buttermilk Pancake Breakfast with Vollwerth Sausage. 8 a.m. to noon at the Range Lounge in South Range. $8 donation, preschool children are free. There will be a bake sale by the Jeffers High School Travel Club.
• Twin Lake Fire Departments’ 29th Annual Pancake, French Toast and Sausage Breakfast and Bake Sale. 7:30 – 11:30 A.M at the Twin Lakes Fire Hall. Adults — $10, children under 10 — $5.
• July 9
‘How Sundials Helped Settle the American Frontier,’ by Mark Montgomery, 7 p.m. Eagle Harbor Community Center. Learn how William Burt came to invent the sun compass, used to further westward expansion in the U.S., as well as how this surveying instrument relates directly to U. P. history. Suggested donation: $5/person, part of Keweenaw County Historical Society’s “Adventures in History.”

• “Better Together” will meet at 9:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church on 400 Ingot Street in Hancock. The speaker will be Andrea Morse of Chassell. Her topic is entitled, “Distant.” All area women are cordially invited to attend this fun, and uplifting event! A brunch will be served and there is a suggested donation of $10.
