July 10

• Better Together Keweenaw, 9:30 a.m. Zion Lutheran Church, Hancock. he speaker will be Andrea Morse of Chassell. Her topic will be “Distant.” All area women are cordially invited to attend, with the goal to bring women together to find friendship, support and encouragement. A brunch will be served, with a suggested donation of $10. All proceeds over the cost of the event will be donated to local charities. • Pipe Organ concert, 2 p.m. Keweenaw Heritage Center at St. Anne’s, 25725 Scott St. Calumet. The Keweenaw Heritage Center at St. Anne’s will host a Pipe Organ Matinee performance by Kathleen Arten. There is a $5 admission fee.

• Daniell Park Concert, 7 p.m. Daniel Park, Laurium. Tonight’s free concert at the Daniell Park bandshell in Laurium will feature the Hassle Family Band. There is no charge, but donations to support the series are welcome. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on. If it rains, the performance will be moved to the George Gipp Arena.

• Public Forum: New Jail Proposal and August 5 Millage Election. The Keweenaw Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will host an online public forum that will provide information and an opportunity to ask questions about the upcoming Aug. 5 millage election to support construction of a new jail and county buildings. The speaker will be Faith Morrison, co-president of the Copper Country Chapter of the League of Women Voters. Forums are open to the public. They are online and run approximately one hour. • Copper Country Mental Health offices in Baraga, Ontonagon, & Calumet will close at 10 a.m. and the main office in Houghton will close at 11 a.m. Regular business hours will resume on July 17. The crisis line, 1-800-526-5059, will remain open & access calls will be returned the next day.
