• Copper Country Strawberry Festival, Chassell

• E-Waste Collection, 2-6 p.m. EGLE, the Great Lakes Climate Corps, and the Superior Watershed Partnership is hosting an e-waste collection at the former Greenland Road School. Most electronic items will be accepted, with a cost of $5 for residential clients. Businesses are also welcome – fees will be determined. Kitchen appliances, even if they have some electronic controls, will not be accepted.

July 13

• Public Forum: New Jail Proposal and August 5 Millage Election. The Keweenaw Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will host an online public forum that will provide information and an opportunity to ask questions about the upcoming Aug. 5 millage election to support construction of a new jail and county buildings. The speaker will be Faith Morrison, co-president of the Copper Country Chapter of the League of Women Voters. Forums are open to the public. They are online and run approximately one hour. • Copper Country Mental Health offices in Baraga, Ontonagon, & Calumet will close at 10 a.m. and the main office in Houghton will close at 11 a.m. Regular business hours will resume on July 17. The crisis line, 1-800-526-5059, will remain open & access calls will be returned the next day.
