• Civil Air Partol Teen inforation session. 6:30-8 p.m., Hancock High/Middle School. Interested in flying, aviation, drones, search and rescue, or aerospace? Check out our local Civil Air Patrol. Learn about airplanes and have some fun with other teens interested in flying and aerospace. This event is open to those between the ages of 12 and 20, and will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 at the Hancock Middle School.

• 360 Degrees of Understanding Communication Beyond Culture, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. Shawnrece Butler is the Assistant Vice President for Opportunity, Empowerment and People at Northern Michigan University. Dr. Butler is an educator, speaker, and advocate for inclusive learning and community belonging. This program is made possible by a grant from the Keweenaw Community Foundation.

• Blood Drive 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Memorial Uniion Building on the MTU campus. Conducted by the UP regional Blood Center. Walk-ins welcome.

• Haunted House, 6 – 9 p.m. Gipp Arena Laurium. The CLK Haunted House is sponsored by the CKL Drams Club

October 31

• Chassell Community Halloween Party, 6-8 p.m., Chassell VFW. The Chassell Lions Club will hold its annual Community Halloween Party on October 31 from 6 to 8 pm at the Chassell VFW. Fun will include costume contests with monetary prizes for infants through adults, refreshments, and games with candy prizes. All are invited.

• Haunted House, 6 – 9 p.m. Gipp Arena Laurium. The CLK Haunted House is sponsored by the CKL Drams Club

• Coat the Copper Country. We are collecting clean, new or gently used coats, snowpants, boots, waterproof gloves/mittens, hats and scarves for all ages, especially children (and men). Donations can be dropped off donations at The Salvation Army.

• Calumet Theatre Halloween Movie Party, 5 p.m. Calumet Theatre. There will be two halloween parties and two movies. 5 p.m. Party, 6 p.m. Beetlejuice (PG). 8 p.m. Intermission party. 9 p.m. Children of the Night (Partially filmed in Calumet) (R). The evening features costume prizes, concessions, dancing, cash bar, and games. Tickets $10

November 1

• All Saints Day Wilderness Walk, 3 p.m. Chassell Cemetery, Hancock St., Chassell. Following the Wilderness Walk, we will be gathering at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chassell for a bonfire, warm drinks, and snacks. The Wilderness Walks are opportunities to connect with God and each other in an outdoor natural setting. Each walk has a leader who will guide the walk and stop along the way for readings and reflection. The walks are appropriate for all ages including families and children. Everyone is welcome, no religious affiliation is necessary.

November 4

• The November meeting of the Houghton-Keweenaw Chapter of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel (MARSP) will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at the Bonfire in Houghton. The business meeting will begin at 12:30 p.m. followed by a buffet lunch. The guest

• Fourth annual Hunter’s Ball, 7-11 p.m Range Lounge, South Range. Sponsored by South Range 4th of July committee. Live music by Slick Nickel, $5 cover charge. 50/50 and gift basket drawings. All proceeds go to South Range 4th of July festivities.
