• CCAM & TSA Angel Tree Christmas Programs. If you would like to sponsor a child or family in one of these “Angel Tree” programs contact either The Salvation Army at 906-482-3420 or the Copper Country Angel Mission through their website.

• Free Soup Supper, 6 p.m. Mission United Church, Pelkie. Mission United Church invites the public to a free chili soup supper on Friday at 6 pm. Breads, desserts and beverages will also be served.

• Neighbor’s Table Community Meal. The monthly Neighbor’s Table community meal will be served at Faith Lutheran Church in Calumet between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m., with takeouts available between 6:30 and 7 p.m.. All are welcome, at no charge.

• L’Anse Blood Drive. 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., L’Anse United Methodist Church, 304 Bendry St. L’Anse. Walk-ins welcome.

November 8

• Coat the Copper Country Distribution. 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Calumet Theatre.

• Fourth annual Hunter’s Ball, 7-11 p.m Range Lounge, South Range. Sponsored by South Range 4th of July committee. Live music by Slick Nickel, $5 cover charge. 50/50 and gift basket drawings. All proceeds go to South Range 4th of July festivities.

• Gear Swap, 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Houghton High School. The Copper Country Ski Tigers are holding a used outdoor gear swap. Buy and sell outdoor gear – bikes, kayaks, canoes, camping gear, skis, snowboards and outdoor clothing or any other item for the silent sport enthusiast. Drop off items to be sold Saturday from 8:30 to 11:15 a.m. Sale begins at 11:30 for current Ski Tigers and noon for the general public. Unsold items and commission checks are to be picked up from 2-3 p.m. There is a 20% percent commission, with a $150 maximum commission, charged on all items sold. All proceeds support the Copper Country Ski Tigers race teams.

• Holiday Decorations with a Side of Rummage Sale 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Portage Lake United Church across from MTU Admin Bldg. A portion of the proceeds supports Copper Country Angel Mission. Start your holiday decorating and treasure hunting ! You’ll find beautiful holiday decorations alongside a fantastic rummage sale.

November 11

• Blood Drive 2 – 6 p.m. Chassell VFW Post 6507. Help a community member, thank a veteran for their service, save a life. The Chassell Post 6507 VFW and Auxiliary will be hosting a blood drive. Appointments are available by calling 906-449-1450, but walk-ins are welcome. The drive will be held at the post at 42103 Wilson Memorial Drive, Chassell. All blood donated through the UP Regional Blood Center stays in the Upper Peninsula and helps patients in need at one of the 12 Upper Peninsula hospitals. One donation can save up to 3 lives, and there is an urgent need for all blood types. All donors will be entered into a drawing to win $50 in Keweenaw Cash that can be used at any of the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce participating businesses.
