• Calumet Players auditions for the spring play “Sherlock Holmes: The Baker Street Irregulars. Tentative performance dates are May 15th, 16th, and 17th.Auditions will take place at 6 p.m. in the Calumet Theatre Ballroom, with callbacks 4 p.m. Jan. 24.

January 23

• In conjunction with Heikinpäivä, this year’s Club Finndigo features “Fallen Leaves” (Kuolleet lehdet), written and directed by Aki Kaurismäki.

Social hour is at 6 p.m. dinner at 7:15 p.m. Movie will be shown at 9:30 p.m.

January 24

• Backstage Jazz. Backstage Jazz: Small Groups features Michigan Tech’s diverse and talented small group ensembles led by Drew Kilpela and Adam Meckler, including JazTec, Techtonics, E=Jazz², and Momentum. Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. the Rozsa’s backstage transforms into the perfect jazz club setting to enjoy a program of music spanning the history of jazz. Encompassing classic, contemporary, funk, and fusion styles, the performances will showcase impressive improvisational skills and unique musical arrangements.

January 25

• Swedetown Winter Trails Day. How about a new way to stay active in winter? From noon to 4 p.m. there will be skis, snowshoes and snow bikes you can try out at the Swedetown Chalet in Calumet, courtesy of Cross Country Sports. The latest Atomic top-end skis will be available too. This event is sponsored by the Swedetown Trails Club.

February 7

• Barnelopet 2026, Free non-competitive kids’ ski race for ages 3-17. Registration 9:30 a.m. with the race starting at 10:30 a.m.AM. Location is Four Seasons Chalet on Maasto Hiito Trail, Hancock. Race distances: 1km, 2km, 4km, 6km. Medals, cookies, and hot chocolate distributed to participants
