Events and Opportunities
February 25
• Feeding America West Michigan Mobile Food Pantry, noon – 1 p.m. Sacred Heart Church Calumet. A free drive through event at Sacred Heart Church Calumet serving up to 300 households with fresh produce, dairy, grains and other staple food items. No appointments or payments required. Watch for signs on US 41 and Lake Linden Ave. to follow entry and exit of drive through event.
• Community Jam Session, Community Jam Session, 7 – 8:30 p.m. Keweenaw Storytelling Center, Calumet. Musicians of all abilities and ages are invited to participate in a community jam session at the Keweenaw Storytelling Center in Calumet. All musical genres are welcome. Come ready to play your own original music or a selection to play, or just play along with fellow musicians. Musicians sit in a circle and take turns performing while fellow musicians are invited to play along. This event is free, but donations are appreciated.
February 26
• Bingo – Calumet 5 p.m. Copper Country Elks Lodge, Calumet. The Copper Country Elks Lodge hosts Bingo sessions every Thursday. Doors open at 5 p.m. and Bingo starts at 5:45 p.m. All are welcome.
February 27
• Blood Drive 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. L’Anse United Methodist Church, 304 Bendry st. L’Anse. The U.P. Regional Blood Center will hold a blood drive at the L’Anse Methodist Church. Walk-ins are welcome.
• Neighbor’s ta le Community Meal, 5:30 – 7 p.m. Faith Lutheran Church Calumet. All are welcome, at no charge.
February 28
• VFW Auxiliary Annual Fishing Tournament, Portage Lake and Chassell Bay. 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. Register at Chassell VFW, Today thru Friday, 6 p.m. to close, Saturday, 7-10 A.m.
