April 14
• Spring Training Tuesdays 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. Topic: Understanding Infant Crying. We’ll cover, How much do babies cry & what’s normal, will my baby ever stop crying? Understanding the stages of infant crying. This session features the Period of PURPLE Crying program, which helps parents and caregivers understand the normal — but sometimes frustrating–patterns of infant crying that can lead to overwhelm. The program also focuses on preventing shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma through education and support. Bonus: Participants will receive a FREE app code to continue learning and share helpful information with others after the session.
April 16
• Blood Drive – Laurium. 3 – 6 p.m. The U.P. Regional Blood Center will host a blood drive at Aspirus Keweenaw in Laurium. Walk-ins are welcome.
April 17
• Blood Drive – Houghton, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Memorial Union Building, MTU. The U.P. Regional Blood Center will host a blood drive in the MUB ballroom at Michigan Tech. Walk-ins are welcome.
April 18
• UP Wild Gathering. 3 p.m. Eagle River Falls, gather at the Houghton Township Pavilion next to the Eagle River Museum. The UP Wild Gatherings are opportunities to connect with God and each other within our natural world. Each Gathering has a leader who will guide the participants through readings and reflection. The Gatherings are appropriate for all ages, including families and children. Everyone is welcome, no religious affiliation is necessary.
• CLK Band Spaghetti Dinner/Auction, 3 – 6 p.m. Calumet High School multi purpose room. $12 per person
• 56th Annual Ed Clements Spaghetti Dinner from 5-7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 16 S. 6th St. L’Anse MI. Enjoy some spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, and desserts. There is also a wine pull, silent auction, raffle buckets, Jackpot Raffle tickets, and Scrip/RaiseRight gift cards. All proceeds benefit the SHS Home and School Association. Tickets are $15 for adults, $6 for children (age 5-12) and can be purchased in advance from the Sacred Heart School office or any SHS family.
April 19
• Let’s Eat Community Meal, 4 – 5:30 p.m. Holy Trinity Church, Chassell, all are welcome.
May 2
• Spring craft show — GAY Join the Gay VFD Auxiliary Spring Festival Craft Show, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. May 2 at the Gay Community Hall. They have a great line-up of crafters for this show. Due to overwhelming response of the community, they have expanded the show to include vendor tables inside as well as outside along with East Fork Pasty and the Bagel Bus.
Inside there will be a bake sale with cold beverages and coffee.Come join in the fun and pick up a gift for Mother’s Day or any other special occasion. If you have any questions or more information call Sondi at 906-369-5335.
