May 21

• Western UP DNR Citizens Advisory Council meeting, 5 – 7:30 p.m. (CDT) Gogebic Community College’s Lindquist Student and Conference Center, located at E4946 Jackson Road, Ironwood. The council is scheduled to hear updates on the DNR’s wolf abundance trail camera survey and moose research study, review 2025 Upper Peninsula deer camp survey results and western Upper Peninsula trail conditions and learn about the latest snow survey methodology used for deer population forecasting. • The Calumet Keweenaw Sportsmen’s Club will hold its May membership meeting on Thursday, May 21, at 6:30 p.m. at the Ahmeek Fire Hall. The evening will begin with a period of social interaction followed by a meal and general club business. Guest speaker will be Mike McMahon with the Keweenaw ATV Club. They have great news to share about the status of the local trail system. As always, everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

May 22

• Neighbor’s Table Community Meal, 5:30 – 7 p.m. Faith Lutheran Church, Calumet. Take outs available between 6:30 – p.m. All are welcome at no charge

May 23

• Plant Sale. The Houghton Trinity Episcopal Church is hosting the Pewabic Street Community Garden 19th Annual Plant from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 205 E Montezuma Ave. Vegetable starts, Perennials for Sun & Shade, Native plants, Berries, Herbs, Houseplants and more.

• The Copper Country Associated Artists will have its seasonal grand opening beginning at noon in the Gallery at 117 5th St., Calumet. This event will have Laura Maze, featured artist from Marquette, visiting with her work. Laura was a winning artist in the 2025 Bonifas Northern Exposure exhibition and we are pleased to bring her work to the area. Join them for art, conversation and fun.

• Locavore 2 – 4 p.m. Downtown Houghton pier. More than 50 vendors, live music, food and event baby goats.

May 27

• Copper Country Community Mental Health Services’ Board meeting will be held at 5 p.m. at the Northern Lights Clubhouse located at 200 Quincy Street in Hancock.
