June 8
• Chassell-Houghton Trail meeting. 6:30 p.m. Chassell Fire Dept. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources will hold a public meeting for property owners in both Chassell Township and Portage Township who own land adjacent to the DNR Trail running between Chassell and Houghton. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss trail boundaries and addressing encroachments.
June 9
• Houghton Farmers Market. 3-6 p.m. Houghton Downtown Pier. The Houghton Farmers Market is held each Tuesday from 3 until 6 on the downtown pier, and features local fresh produce, baked goods, and handcrafted items.
June 10
• Free Soup Supper. 3-6 p.m. Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Atlantic Mine. Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Atlantic Mine offers a free supper on the second Wednesday of each month. All are invited to enjoy soup, bread, and a piece of fruit. A vegan option is available.
• Chassell Farmers Market, 3-6 p.m. Centennial Park. The Chassell Farmer’s Market is every Wednesday from June thru September featuring Farm and craft goods.
June 11
• Better Together Keweenaw 9:30 a.m. Better Together Keweenaw will meet at Zion Lutheran Church in Hancock. The speaker will be Andrea Morse, a teacher at the Houghton Elementary School. Andrea’s topic will be “My Daily Bread.” She will also provide the special music. All area women are invited to attend this fun and inspiring event. A brunch will be served and there is a suggested donation of $10. All proceeds over the cost of the event will be donated to local charities. • L’Anse Waterfront Concert, 7 p.m. L’Anse Waterfront Park. Music with Uncle Pete’s Red Hot Revue, big band brazzy and jazzy.
• Noteworthy concert, 7 p.m. Houghton High School Auditorium. The women’s barbershop chorus Noteworthy will hold its spring concert, “Fab, Fun, and Female. Admission is free. A free-will collection will be taken to benefit the U.P. Human Trafficking Task Force.
• Baragaland Seniors Potluck, Noon, Baragaland Senior Citizens Center, 6 N. Main St. L’Anse. The Baragaland Senior Center will host its monthly potluck. All Baraga County seniors are welcome.

• L’Anse Farmer’s Market, 9 a.m. – noon, Meadowbrook Park. It features fresh local produce and baked goods at the pavilion at Meadowbrook Park.
June 14
• “Let’s Eat” Community Meal – Baraga. 4-5:30 p.m. St. Ann’s Church Baraga. The “Let’s Eat” community meal program offers a free dinner at St. Ann’s Church in Baraga. All are welcome.
June 17
• UP Wild Gathering, 7 p.m. Boston Pond Nature Area. *Special Guest: Pastor Sharolyn Swenson, Assistant to the Bishop, Northern Great Lakes Synod (ELCA). The UP Wild Gatherings are opportunities to connect with God and each other within our natural world. Each Gathering has a leader who will guide the participants through readings and reflection. The Gatherings are appropriate for all ages, including families and children. No religious affiliation is necessary. Everyone is welcome!

• From Finland to Foundry: Bruno Nordberg and the Machinery of Progress, 6 p.m. Quincy Mine and Shaft. As part of Juhannus and Hancock’s Finno-Ugric Capital of Culture designation, the Quincy Mine is celebrating a Finnish immigrant that altered the history of the Copper Country. Chief of Interpretation Clayton P. Gomez, will present a lecture on the life and legacy of Bruno Nordberg, the visionary engineer whose machinery improved the efficiency of the area’s mining industry. Following the lecture, guests are invited to explore a pop-up exhibit featuring materials related to Nordberg’s connection to the Keweenaw. Free of charge, with light refreshments provided. Lecture begins at 6 p.m. in Quincy Mine’s 1894 Hoist House.
