• Matt & Pete Manderfield Annual Chicken BBQ. Noon – 5:30 p.m. Dee Stadium. The event is the annual fundraiser for the Houghton-Hancock Lions Club. The takeout dinner includes 1/2 chicken, coleslaw, beans, roll, dessert for $17. To purchase tickets contact a Houghton-Hancock Lions Club member or call 906-370-1676.

• Community Rummage Sale, 5 – 8 p.m. Houghton County Fairgrounds Exhibit Building. Sponsored by t he Houghton County Fair Association, the sale will be held Saturday as well. There is a $10 rental fee per 150 sq.ft. space, which includes two tables. Additional tables are available for a small fee. You can rent more than one space if needed. • Neighbor’s Table Community Meal, 5:30 – 7 p.m. Faith Lutheran Church Calumet. The monthly Neighbor’s Table community meal will be served at Faith Lutheran Church in Calumet between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. with takeouts available between 6:30 and 7 p.m.. All are welcome for fellowship, no charge.

• Canal Rock, 6 – 9 p.m. Porvoo Park, Hancock. Tonight’s free Hancock Canal Rock at Porvoo Park concert features the Supersuits. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on, and enjoy.

Aug. 1

• Pancake Breakfast, 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. Bonfire Restaurant, Houghton. The Houghton High School Alumni Association will hold its Pancake Breakfast with Silent Pie Auction this year at the Bonfire Restaurant, Montezuma Avenue in Houghton, serving variety of pancakes, Vollwerth’s sausage, coffee, juice, suggested donation is $10 per adult, while supply lasts. Tickets are available in advance from committee members and at the door. Open to the public.

• L’Anse Farmer’s Market, 9 a.m. noon. Meadowbrook Park, Division Stree, L’Anse. The weekly L’Anse Farmers Market features fresh local produce and baked goods at the pavilion at Meadowbrook Park.

• Calumet Farmer’s Market 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Agassiz Park. The Calumet Farmers Market at Agassiz Park offers fresh produce, baked goods and local crafts.

• Hancock Tori 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Quincy Green. The Hancock Tori features fresh local produce and baked goods, along with handmade crafts.

• Gay VFD Auxiliary Bazaar and Sales. 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Gay Community Center. Join us Saturday for the Gay VFD Auxiliary Bazaar and Sales. A ton of merchandise has been restocked for your shopping pleasure. At this months sale we have also added Fall, Halloween and Christmas items. A free will donation lunch/desserts will be available for you to enjoy with your friends and family. We’ll also have our popular popcorn and soda pop for sale. Come join us in the fun and take home some good deals.

• HKCD Anniversary Celebration, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Calumet Waterworks Park. The Houghton Keweenaw Conservation District celebrates 75 years. A variety of family friendly activities include guided forest walks, guided rock hunt and geo-tours on the beach, facepainting, gifts for the first 50 people and much more.

• Digital Bloom 2 – 8 p.m. Houghton Downtown Pier. Art, music and much more.

August 4

• Blood Drive, Hancock. The UP Regional Blood Center is holding a Blood Drive at UP Health System-Portage Hancock Clinic from noon – 4 p.m. Walk ins welcome. for more information, contact 906-483-1392

• Keweenaw County Historical Society Program, 7 p.m. Keweenaw National Historical Park Visitor Center, 5th St. Calumet. “Copper and Courage: Keweenaw County in the Civil War.” KNHP Ranger Lynette Webber reviews Keweenaw County’s links to the Civil War, including how one early mine agent/former Copper Harbor resident later was suspected as a mastermind behind the Lincoln assassination.

• ‘Adventures at Eagle Harbor Light Station,’ a Keweenaw County Historical Society program, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Eagle Harbor Light Station. • Omega House Summer Concert, 7 p.m. Saints Peter and Paul Lutheran Church in Houghton. This annual tradition features an exceptional group of local musicians who generously donate their talents in support of Omega House. The evening will include a delightful blend of jazz, light opera, folk, and popular music, offering something for everyone to enjoy.

Admission is a suggested $10 donation, with all proceeds benefiting Omega House.
