• Inter-Lutheran Seminary. The fall semester starts on Wednesday, Sept. 2. Daily classes include Christian Dogmatics II, Eschatology, Gospel of Mark, Genesis, Evangelism, Churches, Sects & Isms and Daniel. The Monday night class will be the Acts of the Apostles and starts on Sept. 14, at 916 Pine Street, Hancock and also available online. • Mobile Food Pantry, 10 a.m. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 42905 Wilson Memorial Drive, Chassell. The Feeding America West Michigan Mobile Food Pantry will have food for approximately 300 families, including fresh fruit and vegetables, on a first-come, first-served basis. No proof of income is needed.
• Chassell Farmer’s Market 3-6 p.m. Chassell Centennial Park and Pavilion.
• L’Anse Farmers Market, 3-5:30 p.m. Meadowbrook Arena. The L’Anse mid-week farmers market offers fresh produce and baked goods each Wednesday from 3:00 until 5:30 at Meadowbrook Park.
• Summer Slam Concert Series, 7 p.m. Houghton Downtown Pier. Last show of the season featuring The Naw with Funk, Folk, Prog, Jam, Jazz & Blue.
• Calumet Theatre Summer Concert Series. The Calumet Theatre’s Summer Concert Series presents Steve Jones and the Tall Grass Brass Band. There is no charge, but donations to the performers will be appreciated.

• Downtown Houghton Concert Series, 7 p.m. Ray Kestner Waterfront Park. Tonight, enjoy rockin’ country from Outlaw’d. There is no charge. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on. Kids can play at Chutes and Ladders nearby.
• L’Anse Waterfront Concert. 7 p.m. L’Anse Waterfront Park. Tonight, Black Pearl with Smooth Jazz, Rock and Country.

• Baragaland Senior Citizens Meal, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Green Hill Manor. Suggested donation of $5 for 60+ and $6.50 for under 60. All meals include milk or water and bread and butter. Please leave a message at least one day before the meal is served for accurate preparation.

Join us on Saturday, Sept. 5 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. for the final sale for the Gay VFD Auxiliary Bazaar & Sales. There are many new items and markdowns, 50% off most items priced at a dollar or more, excluding books and jewelry. Fizz Dirty Soda Company will be serving up delicious drinks and East Fork Pasty will offer ready to eat and frozen take out pasties. We’ll still have our free will donation lunch available for you to enjoy as well. Come join in the fun, have lunch and take home some good deals.

• Better Together will meet on Thursday, September 10 at 9:30 at Zion Lutheran Church at 400 Ingot Street in Hancock. The speaker will be Maura Leinonen and her topic will be, “Joyfully Following Jesus.” Special music will be provided by Kristin Kytta of Chassell. All area women are invited to attend this fun and inspiring event. A brunch will be served and there is a suggested donation of $10. UP Wild Wilderness Walk, “Foraging with Faith” 4 p.m. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chassell (Gather at the campfire ring at the back of the northside parking lot.) The Wilderness Walks are opportunities to connect with God and each other in an outdoor natural setting. Each walk has a leader who will guide the walk and stop along the way for readings and reflection. The walks are appropriate for all ages, including families and children. No religious affiliation is necessary. Everyone is welcome!
