• Join us on Saturday, Sept. 5 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. for the final sale for the Gay VFD Auxiliary Bazaar & Sales. There are many new items and markdowns, 50% off most items priced at a dollar or more, excluding books and jewelry. Fizz Dirty Soda Company will be serving up delicious drinks and East Fork Pasty will offer ready to eat and frozen take out pasties. We’ll still have our free will donation lunch available for you to enjoy as well. Come join in the fun, have lunch and take home some good deals.
• Vinyl Records Show. From noon until 11 p.m. on Saturday, a vinyl record show will be held in the parking lot of Blackrocks Brewery, at 424 N. 3rd Street in downtown Marquette. Thousands of new & used vinyl records, CDs, posters, cassettes, books, and t-shirts will be available. The Endless Summer Festival will feature nine musical acts on multiple stages, creative local artists and food trucks serving a variety of delicious food!
• Hancock City End of Summer Celebration, 2 – 10 p.m. Quincy Green, Hancock. Bouncy houses and games for kids of all ages, Cornhole, pickleball, tennis tournaments and more. Our famous Ping Pong Ball Drop. Food court, vendors, music and beer garden Street dance at 6 p.m. with Chad Borgen and the Collective and a Laser light show spectacular finale.
• Keweenaw Roller Derby’s 13th Annual Solar System Smackdown Mixer 5 – 10 p.m. Calumet Colosseum. This annual mixer brings skaters from across the galaxy to the Keweenaw to compete for and against your favorite skaters and rookies from KRD in what is sure to be an out of this world experience! • MI-TRALE monthly meeting. The September Monthly Meeting will be held at 7 p.m. (EDT), in person at the Stannard Township Hall on Sept. 8 due to the Labor Day Holiday. For virtual attendance, we now have ZOOM available. If you would like to attend virtually, please email mitrale.pr@gmail.com and we will get you the connection information. • The first Fall meeting of the Michigan Association of School Personnel, (MARSP) Houghton-Keweenaw Chapter will be held at 12:30 pm at the Bluffs in Houghton. The business meeting will begin at 12:30 pm followed by a buffet lunch. The guest speaker is Anthony Schwass, director of the Gogebic Community College Houghton campus. All members are encouraged to attend.

• Better Together will meet on Thursday, September 10 at 9:30 at Zion Lutheran Church at 400 Ingot Street in Hancock. The speaker will be Maura Leinonen and her topic will be, “Joyfully Following Jesus.” Special music will be provided by Kristin Kytta of Chassell. All area women are invited to attend this fun and inspiring event. A brunch will be served and there is a suggested donation of $10. • Porkfest community dinner 4-6 p.m. Grace Lutheran Church, South Range. All are welcome to this FREE community dinner. Menu: Smoked, grilled and BBQ pulled pork with baked potatoes, baked beans, cole slaw, rolls and desserts, (no take outs available.)
• UP Wild Wilderness Walk, “Foraging with Faith” 4 p.m. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chassell (Gather at the campfire ring at the back of the northside parking lot.) The Wilderness Walks are opportunities to connect with God and each other in an outdoor natural setting. Each walk has a leader who will guide the walk and stop along the way for readings and reflection. The walks are appropriate for all ages, including families and children. No religious affiliation is necessary. Everyone is welcome!

• Hymn Sing, 7 p.m. The Hancock First United Methodist Church is hosting an old fashioned Hymn Sing followed by an ice cream social. All are welcome! The Church is celebrating its 165th anniversary.
