• The first Fall meeting of the Michigan Association of School Personnel, (MARSP) Houghton-Keweenaw Chapter will be held at 12:30 pm at the Bluffs in Houghton. The business meeting will begin at 12:30 pm followed by a buffet lunch. The guest speaker is Anthony Schwass, director of the Gogebic Community College Houghton campus. All members are encouraged to attend.

• L’Anse Farmers Market, The L’Anse mid-week farmers market offers fresh produce and baked goods each Wednesday from 3 – 5:30 p.m. at Meadowbrook Park.
• Blood Pressure Wednesday, noon Green Hill Manor, 106 S. 6th St. L’Anse.
• Free Soup Supper, 3-6 p.m. Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Atlantic Mine. Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Atlantic Mine offers a free supper on the second Wednesday of each month. All are invited to enjoy soup, bread, and a piece of fruit. A vegan option is available.

• Better Together will meet on Thursday, September 10 at 9:30 at Zion Lutheran Church at 400 Ingot Street in Hancock. The speaker will be Maura Leinonen and her topic will be, “Joyfully Following Jesus.” Special music will be provided by Kristin Kytta of Chassell. All area women are invited to attend this fun and inspiring event. A brunch will be served and there is a suggested donation of $10. • Hancock Farmer’s Market, 2-6 p.m. Quincy Green
• L’Anse Waterfront Concert, 7 p.m. L’Anse Waterfront Park. In the event of bad weather, concerts will take place in the L’Anse Area School Cafeteria. Tonight, Tapestry String Band with Roots, Country and Bluegrass. This is the last concert of the season.
• Baragland Senior Citizens Meal, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Green Hill Manor. Suggested donation of $5 for 60+ and $6.50 for under 60. All meals include milk or water and bread and butter. • Porkfest community dinner 4-6 p.m. Grace Lutheran Church, South Range. All are welcome to this FREE community dinner. Menu: Smoked, grilled and BBQ pulled pork with baked potatoes, baked beans, cole slaw, rolls and desserts, (no take outs available.)
• UP Wild Wilderness Walk, “Foraging with Faith” 4 p.m. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chassell (Gather at the campfire ring at the back of the northside parking lot.) The Wilderness Walks are opportunities to connect with God and each other in an outdoor natural setting. Each walk has a leader who will guide the walk and stop along the way for readings and reflection. The walks are appropriate for all ages, including families and children. No religious affiliation is necessary. Everyone is welcome!

• Hymn Sing, 7 p.m. The Hancock First United Methodist Church is hosting an old fashioned Hymn Sing followed by an ice cream social. All are welcome! The Church is celebrating its 165th anniversary.
