September 26 • 'Cider at Central,' a Keweenaw County Historical Society Program. Use an old-time cider press to make cider at Central Mine location. Harvest apples on site (dress for weeds and bring a ladder!) or bring your own, along with containers to bring cider home. Come anytime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Central Mine 'doctor's house' on main road, off US-41 north of Phoenix to join in. Pack a picnic enjoy the hiking trails around this mining ghost town.
