Veterans Health Fair planned for Saturday

HANCOCK -- The Alfred Erickson American Legion Post 186 will host a Veterans Health Fair from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the post, 1308 Quincy St. in Hancock. The event is free to all veterans. No appointment, DD-214 or military ID will be necessary. Tests available include blood pressure, vital signs, oxygen saturation, blood sugar and weight and body mass index. 60th annual Trappers Convention set in Escanaba

ESCANABA — The U.P. Trappers have announced the dates for the 60th annual Trappers Convention and Outdoor Expo. This family-friendly event will be held on the U.P. State Fairgrounds in Escanaba on July 15-16. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday (all times EDT). Calumet Keweenaw Sportsmen’s Club meeting tonight

CALUMET — The Calumet Keweenaw Sportsmen's Club will be holding its May membership meeting at 6:30 p.m. today at the Ahmeek Fire Hall, 15 Vivian Street, Ahmeek. The group will be serving a pasta dinner. Following the meal, a local conservation officer will be a guest speaker.
