Flyover Country

Garrett Neese/Daily Mining Gazette

Employees at UP Health System — Portage take a break to watch a Michigan Air National Guard flyover Hancock Tuesday afternoon. About 40 employees gathered outside the back entrances of the building to watch two KC-135 stratotankers. Tuesday’s flight, a salute to frontline workers during the COVID-19 epidemic, included cities such as Houghton, Calumet, Marquette, Flint and Lansing. “It’s really neat,” said Rachelle Jaehnig, a lab technician at Portage. “It brings all of us out to see it. It’s something to look forward to during the day.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
