OTTER LAKE — A Pelkie man was killed in a crash near Otter Lake Thursday afternoon.

Deputies from the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash on Tapiola Road near Donken Road at 3:24 p.m., the sheriff’s office said in a release.

A 67-year-old Pelkie man and 35-year-old Nisula man were involved in the crash. Bay Ambulance transported the 67-year-old man to Baraga County Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies were assisted on scene by Bay Ambulance, Otter Lake First Responders, Otter Lake Fire and Rescue and Superior Service.
