Child sex abuse suspect bound over
HOUGHTON — One of three suspects charged with child sex abuse crimes has been bound over to circuit court.
Kahleb Senia-Wicks, 21, of Calumet, waived his preliminary hearing in 97th District Court Monday. No date for his circuit court arraignment has been set.
Two other suspects — Jeffrey Redd, 34, of Laurium, and Jason Davis, 27, of Calumet, are awaiting preliminary hearings.
The defendants were arrested as part of a multi-agency sting operation in March. They are alleged to have shown up at hotels to pay for sex with minors after messaging online with undercover officers.
All face charges of child sexually abusive activity, a 20-year felony; use of a computer to commit child sexually abusive activity, a 20-year felony; and accosting a child for immoral purposes, a four-year felony. Redd was also charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of cocaine, 10-year felonies.
