Deer Hunter’s Widows Craft Show returns Saturday
HOUGHTON — Every year, hunters circle Nov. 15 on their calendar as they anticipate the start of deer season.
Since 2013, a Daily Mining Gazette event has catered to another equally skilled group of hunters: shoppers looking for holiday gifts and other great deals.
The Gazette’s annual Deer Hunter’s Widows Craft Show returns from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Copper Country Mall.
This year’s show offers more than 80 vendors, said Yvonne Robillard, advertising manager at the Gazette. About 20 of those are making their first appearance.
“Hundreds and hundreds” of people come to the mall each year to check out the deals available to them, Robillard said.
“There’s a great selection of homemade gifts, and it’s a perfect start for your Christmas shopping,” she said.
Vendors will have bakery, jams and jellies, homemade crafts, woodworking and many more items. One new vendor will take photos of customers and use them to make a 3D sculpture.
And if anyone gets hungry during the event, the Gazette will have pizza slices for sale.
