Keweenaw’s Got Talent Debuts April 11

HANCOCK — The Keweenaw is getting a new stage this spring with the debut of Keweenaw’s Got Talent, a community talent showcase and fundraiser set for 5 – 9 p.m. Saturday, April 11 at the Rachel Marie Blau Memorial Theater inside the Hancock Community Hub.

Inspired by the energy of America’s Got Talent, this first-time event will bring together music, dance, comedy, and creative performances from across the region in a wholesome, family-friendly setting. Proceeds will support the Hancock Community Hub and its mission to keep the space open, active, and full of community programming for the Keweenaw.

CALL FOR AUDITIONS

Community members are invited to apply to perform.

Who: Adults, teens, and children

What: Singing, dancing, comedy, magic, instrumental music, spoken word, and other family-friendly acts

Where: Performances will take place live at the Hancock Community Hub

How: Auditions will be accepted via online application with a short video submission.

Online auditions opened this past Monday and closes March 1. Audition selection notifications will be made by March 13.

Selected performers will be featured in either the Talent Competition (adults and teens) or the Rising Stars Showcase (children and youth). Performers will be recognized with awards and community celebration throughout the evening. Performances will be judged by a panel of community members, highlighting local voices and celebrating the talent, creativity, and spirit of the Keweenaw.

The Show “Keweenaw’s Got Talent” will take place beginning at 5 p.m. April 11 at the Hancock Community Hub.

About the Event

Keweenaw’s Got Talent is designed to spotlight the creativity already thriving in the region and build a new annual tradition rooted in community pride, encouragement, and fun. It is coordinated by the Hancock Community Hub Events Committee and community volunteers. Youth will kick off the event with the “Rising Stars Showcase,” and adults will showcase their talents on stage in a competition with audience voting and community judges.

Event tickets will be available for purchase online starting in February. More information will be released soon. Local businesses interested in partnering by sponsoring the event are encouraged to contact the Hancock Community Hub at: hancockcommunityhub@gmail.com.
