How the Dow Jones fared Friday

U.S. stocks fell Friday after a solid jobs report kept alive the possibly that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates as soon as next month.

It was the seventh straight day of declines for the Dow Jones industrial average, the longest losing streak for the index since July 2011.

For the day:

The Dow Jones industrial average lost 46.37 points, or 0.3 percent, to 17,373.38.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 index fell 5.99 points, or 0.3 percent, to 2,077.57.

The Nasdaq composite declined 12.90 points, or 0.3 percent, to 5,043.54.

For the week:

The Dow Jones industrial average lost 316.48 points, or 1.8 percent.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 index is down 26.27 points, or 1.3 percent.

The Nasdaq composite is down 84.74 points, or 1.7 percent.

For the year:

The Dow is down 449.69 points, or 2.5 percent.

The S&P 500 index is up 18.67 points, or 0.9 percent.

The Nasdaq is up 307.49 points, or 6.5 percent.
