HOUGHTON — Gardens can be about more than beauty. They can also nurture bees, birds and butterflies. If you are interested in supporting nature in your own yard, the Wild Ones Keweenaw chapter is making it easy with its safe, online sale, which includes several plant species native to the U.P.

Order at the chapter’s website, keweenaw.wildones.org, then pay and pick up in Houghton June 26-29. Black-eyed Susans, wild bergamot, pearly everlasting, New England aster and wild columbine are among the flowers available.

Interested in doing something special for monarch butterflies? The Keweenaw Wild Ones will be offering common milkweed at its second sale later this summer.
