ONTONAGON — Citizens Bancshares, Inc., a Michigan corporation, the parent company of Citizens State Bank of Ontonagon, invites proposals from non-profit organizations, community planners, or job creators to receive a donation of the existing bank building located at 501 River Street, Ontonagon, MI 49953. The approximately 10,000 square foot multi-level facility is perfectly situated in the middle of downtown Ontonagon, but also sits on the edge of one of the main residential areas in Ontonagon. This location is ideal as a hub for non-profit or educational use. Incubator or accelerator programs are encouraged to apply. The donation will be for the building, only. Interested parties will be responsible for performing their own due diligence for the building and the real property, including inspections, title work, surveys, etc. The building will be donated as-is under a quit-claim deed. More details will be provided by the Bank during the proposal process. Please note the timelines below.

The facility will become available approximately May 30, 2021, after Citizens State Bank completes its move to its new facility.

RFP release date is Dec. 9.

Questions and statements of interest are due (in writing) on Jan. 1, 2021, at 5 p.m.

Proposals are due on Jan. 31, 2021.
