Calumet man sentenced

Raymond Reed-Vandam

HOUGHTON — A 34-year old Calumet man was sentenced to five years probation Wednesday after a 12th Circuit Court Judge granted a plea deal agreed upon in November.

Raymond Reed-Vandam was charged in July with seven counts, including possession and distribution of child sexually abusive material (CSAM.) He was arraigned in court in September on one count of possession of CSAM, the other charges were dismissed.

He pleaded guilty on that one count of possession.

The 34-year old entered a plea deal agreement in November before the sentencing hearing in the upcoming months. Wednesday, Circuit Court Judge Brittany Bulleit, honored that plea agreement.

If he violates the conditions of his probation, Reed-Vandam could face up to a minimum sentence of nine months in jail. He has already three days credit for time served in the Houghton County Jail.

Starting at $3.50/week.
