LAURIUM – Laurium Police have apprehended three suspects related to a rash of vehicle break-ins in the village, said Police Chief Kurt Erkkila.

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 1, several residents throughout the village reported property missing or out of place from their vehicles. Erkkila said the department received at least nine reports from residents for stolen property.

Erkkila said three juveniles were arrested in connection with the investigation and all three have been interviewed. The juveniles cooperated with police.

“We got more property recovered than what was reported,” Erkkila said.

Erkkila said the stolen items were small, like vapes and sunglasses.
