History award recipients
MARQUETE — The Marquette Regional History Center announced the annual history award recipients for 2025. Congratulations to Phyllis Wong who will receive the Helen Longyear Paul Award given to recognize individuals, and the Peter White Award which honors foundations, companies, organizations, and institutions will be given to the Marquette Federation of Women’s Clubs. Congratulations to Blaine Betts who will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Aspen Murphy who will receive the Ameen, Honkala, and Richards Young Historian Award, as well.
The public is invited to honor these individuals and organizations during the Center’s Annual Meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 25.
Marquette County has a rich history and cultural heritage that inspires many to interpret, preserve and share it. As a historical institution it is our responsibility to recognize those efforts and promote the achievements of people and organizations making history today. The Marquette Regional History Center began an awards program in 1984.
The Helen Longyear Paul Award recognizes individuals, and the Peter White Award honors foundations, companies, organizations, and institutions.
