Closed for now, but not for good
CALUMET TOWNSHIP – Northridge Pines Assisted Living Community is closing, but it isn’t a permanent situation, according to Tina Heble.
Heble, who is director of sales and marketing for Northridge Pines and its sister facility, Gardenview Assisted Living & Memory Care near the village of Calumet, said Northridge is being closed to allow renovations, particularly of the building’s heating and cooling system.
Heble said Northridge’s 18 residents will be allowed to move to Gardenview while the renovations are going on.
“We’re hoping all residents will transition to Gardenview,” Heble said.
Both Gardenview and Northridge Pines are owned by Compass Pointe Healthcare Systems of Baltimore, Maryland.
Heble said it’s uncertain how long the renovations at Northridge Pines will take, but they are being done now in the hope the work can be finished before winter sets in.
“We’re being proactive,” she said. “We are not putting any timeline on the renovations.”
Heble said the Northridge residents may return there when the renovations are done, or they may decide to stay at Gardenview.
“That would be their decision,” she said. “We’re doing everything we can to be sure we’re taking care of our residents.”
