Alleged stabber arrested in McLain State Park
MCLAIN STATE PARK — A woman was arrested Saturday for allegedly stabbing another woman twice with a knife at McLain State Park.
The altercation stemmed from a dispute over a dog running at large on the beach, the Michigan State Police Calumet Post said in a release.
The alleged victim, a 27-year-old woman suffered a large laceration to the abdomen and a small puncture wound on the bicep, the MSP said. The injuries were not life-threatening but required immediate medical attention. Mercy EMS transported the woman to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital.
The suspect was lodged at the Houghton County Jail on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon. Her name is being withheld pending arraignment in 97th District Court.
