Dial Help offering peer recovery services

HOUGHTON — Addiction is a disease that can be tough to overcome without support. Dial Help is now offering peer recovery services (also called peer coaching) in the Copper Country to help people along their path to sobriety. Coaching services are free, confidential, self-directed, strength-based, and focused on empowering individuals to take charge of their lives. The goal is to cultivate long-term recovery rooted in hope, healthy choices, and resilience.

“Recovery is possible, sobriety is possible, and everyone deserves the chance for that,” says Kassy Kallio, Certified Peer Recovery Coach at Dial Help. “Peer Recovery Coaches have gone through that journey, and we’re here to help other people figure out how to rebuild their lives around sobriety.”

Peer recovery services include:

— Emotional support dealing with the trauma and difficulties that go along with addiction

— Information and connection to resources that support sobriety

— Help accessing programs for concrete needs like finding housing, employment, and more

— Assistance developing safety plans, including what to do if a relapse happens

To learn more or request services, contact Kassy by phone call or text at 906-231-9902, or email kkallio@dialhelp.org. Dial Help’s Peer Recovery Services are funded by NorthCare Network and Beyond the Save, a HRSA/R-CORP consortium. You can find other Dial Help services at www.DialHelp.org.
