Pursuant to MCL 117.3(k) notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Hancock, Houghton County, MI, proposes to enact the following Ordinance numbered 2020-306 summarized as follows:

Residential Rental Property Ordinance

An ordinance to regulate rental properties in the city of Hancock; to permit rentals; to describe the licensing process and fees; to describe expectations and requirements of landlords; to issue proper rental licenses, collect payments of fees and conduct inspections; to provide an enforcement and appeals process; penalties for violation of this ordinance; and to provide effective dates.

A Public Hearing shall be scheduled at the Regular Hancock City Council Meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. at Hancock City Hall, located at 399 Quincy St., Hancock, MI 49930.

A true copy of the proposed ordinance may be inspected or obtained at City Hall. Interested parties may appear at the meeting and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance.
