CALUMET — The historic Calumet Theatre is seeking donations for GivingTuesday. GivingTuesday is an annual global generosity movement that unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. This year’s GivingTuesday takes place on Dec. 1.

The Theatre is looking to raise $5,000 to be used towards the purchase of quality live streaming video equipment. This technical gear would allow the presentation of live pay-per-view performances from the Calumet Theatre stage, and make them available for viewing to patrons online around the world.

Those wishing to donate to the Calumet Theatre can do so by visiting calumettheatre.com (Nov. 23 to Dec. 1) and make their contribution via the Monetary Donation button on the website. Contributions may also be sent direct to the Calumet Theatre Box Office, PO Box 167, Calumet, MI 49913. Please write in the check memo: GivingTuesday. Credit card donations can also be made by calling the Theatre box office on Tuesday, Dec. 1 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) at 906-337-2610.

The Calumet Theatre, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, has been serving the Copper Country for 120 years, by presenting outstanding entertainment and cultural experiences to residents and visitors to the area.
