MTU’s Rozsa Center announces Presenting Series for 2024-25

HOUGHTON — Michigan Tech’s Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts announced their exciting lineup of shows for their 2024-25 Presenting Series. The series includes eight diverse and showstopping events, including creative film works and side-splitting stand-up.

Sept. 6, 2024–Rozsa Soiree feat. Gina Chavez–Kick off the season with a launch party fundraiser! The evening includes a silent auction, voting on the 2024/25 Concessions Feature, and an exclusive backstage concert by Gina Chavez, a pop star hailing from Austin, Texas.
Sept. 19, 2024–Sharon McMahon–Affectionately dubbed “America’s Government Teacher,” Sharon McMahon is this year’s Van Evera Distinguished Lecture Series speaker. McMahon is a non-partisan podcaster and former high school government and law teacher with over a million social media followers.
Oct. 11, 2024–Hub New Music–This distinct quartet of flute, clarinet, violin and cell is forging new paths in the music world. Expect a fresh, bold performance on the cutting and creative edge of classical music in this intimate McArdle Theatre concert.
Oct. 19, 2024–Manual Cinema’s Leonardo! A Wonderful Show About a Terrible Monster–This original film comes to life as Manual Cinema scores, performs, and projects the film in real time. Based on two Mo Willems books, Leonardo! Uses hundreds of illustrated paper puppets, book pages, two-dimensional props, furry monster puppets, and songs to bring Mo Willems’ books to life. All attendees are welcome to join the IncredibleBank Monster Mash Party for added fun!
Dec. 14, 2024–Holiday Nostalgia Night–A joyful celebration for all ages that includes a multi-generational holiday party, a screening of a beloved classic holiday film, and a post-film Holiday Nostalgia Night complete with trivia, music, and holiday drinks.
Feb. 8, 2025–Water Street Dance Milwaukee Winter Carnival Performance–Recently named one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch”, and known for their cutting-edge performances that tour the globe, Water Street Dance Milwaukee will leave you breathless and inspired.
March 8, 2025–YAMATO: The Drummers of Japan–Witness the staggering display of physical strength that has captivated over 6 million people across 54 countries. Yamato performers push their limits, using their entire bodies to produce thunderous music that will leave you exhilarated by their high-energy, and explosive performance.
March 22, 2025–Zarna Garg–Laugh the night away with Zarna Garg’s quick wit, relatable humor, and fearless social commentary. This Indian immigrant mom turned stand-up comedy star is beloved by 2M+ social media followers, has an Amazon Prime Special, and opened for comedy legends Tina Fey and Amy Pohler on their 2023-2024 Restless Leg Tour.
