Range Lions Club gives back SOUTH RANGE — At its April meeting, the Range Lions Club continued its tradition of giving back to the community. This month the Lions: • Donated $300 to the Helmuth M. Steinhilb Memorial Scholarship Fund to be given to a local Jeffers High School Senior who will attend college this fall • Donated $200 to the Adams Township School District Foundation • Donated $100 to the Leader Dogs for the Blind Foundation For more information on the Range Lions Club, visits its Facebook page.

Garden Giveaway HOUGHTON–In honor of Houghton's effort to become the first Bird City in the Upper Peninsula, the Wild Ones Keweenaw Chapter is giving away a limited number of free native plant gardens. Houghton residents will have an advantage, but all Keweenaw gardeners are welcome to apply. Winning gardens will be installed in front yards or boulevard strips between the sidewalk and street, so everyone can appreciate their beauty and value to birds and other wildlife. Grant applications accepted HANCOCK — The Portage Health Auxiliary welcomes grant request applications. The Auxiliary is a non-profit group funded by sales at the gift shop at UPHealth System in Hancock. The mission is to improve the health and well-being of the elderly and youth in the counties of Keweenaw, Houghton, Baraga, and Ontonagon and applications should reflect this mission. Baroque concerts in May DOLLAR BAY — Keweenaw Historical Music and Esky Baroque will join forces to present CONCERTOGANZA!, a series of concerts featuring the Bach Concerto for Four Harpsichords. Two performances are scheduled. The Keweenaaw concert is at 3 p.m. May 2, at the CC Suzuki Association, 23415 Granite Ave. in Dollar Bay. The final concert is at 7 p.m., May 16 at St. Joseph and St. Patrick Church, 709 1st Ave S, Escanaba. Admission is free, though donations will be accepted at each event.

Spring Festival in Gay GAY — Join the Gay VFD Auxiliary Spring Festival Craft Show, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. May 2 at the Gay Community Hall. They have a great line-up of crafters for this show. Due to overwhelming response of the community, they have expanded the show to include vendor tables inside as well as outside along with East Fork Pasty and the Bagel Bus.
