Chinook and coho salmon runs begin as DNR gears up for egg takes

The days are getting cooler, the leaves are beginning to change and the salmon are starting their annual spawning runs – all signs that the Michigan Department of Natural Resources is preparing for Chinook and coho salmon egg takes. Free COVID-19 antigen testing and vaccination clinics announced

HANCOCK — The Western Upper Peninsula Health Department announces that it has partnered with the Michigan National Guard to provide weekly free community wide COVID-19 antigen testing and vaccination sites at several locations in the health district. Mohamed Haji sentenced to 130 months in prison for conspiring to provide material support to ISIS

GRAND RAPIDS — United States Attorney Andrew Birge announced that Chief United States District Judge Robert J. Jonker sentenced Mohamed Salat Haji, age 28, of Lansing to serve 130 months in federal prison for conspiring to provide material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (“ISIS”), a designated foreign terrorist organization.
