Ellen C. Laitinen
HOUGHTON — Ellen C. Laitinen, 88, a resident of the Bluffs Senior Living Community in Houghton, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at her home.
She was born on October 2, 1929, in South Range, a daughter of the late Albin and Katri (Pyykkonen) Laitinen. Ellen was a graduate of the Jeffers High School.
Ms. Laitinen moved to lower Michigan where she began a career working as a Social Worker for the State of Michigan. Since 2004, she has made her home at the Bluff Senior Living Community in Houghton.
Ellen enjoyed listening to music, reading books and spending time with children.
Preceding her in death was a half-sister, Esther.
Surviving are her caregiver, Sharon (Roger) Harry of Hurontown.
Burial for Ellen will take place later this spring in the Mt. View Cemetery of South Range.
