Anita B. Simonen
WAUKESHA, Wis. — Anita B. Simonen (Neets), 74, of Sherman Township, passed away in her sleep on December 7, 2019 at Oak Hills Terrace Senior Community. Anita was born in Laurium on July 25, 1945, a daughter of Betty and Wylie Anderson.
Anita married the love of her life, Kenneth Simonen, on June 15th 1964, and they celebrated their 49th anniversary before his passing in December of 2013.
Anita enjoyed spending time with her family and friends (especially traveling and going to rummage sales with the girls). She spent long hours at her camp in Gay, enjoying time decorating it with her flare for design. She was a graduate of Calumet High School (Class of 1963).
Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Ken; her parents; and her brother, Mark Anderson.
Anita leaves behind her beloved two sons, Spencer Simonen (Lynn) of Delafield, Wisc. and Zachary Simonen of Superior, Wisc.; three grandsons, Ethan, Lucas and Wylie; and sister, Karla Weiberg (Glen). She will be greatly missed by all.
Services have been private. A memorial to celebrate Anita’s life is being planned for August at the American Legion in Lake Linden.
