Jerry Arnold Larson

CALUMET — Jerry Arnold Larson passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, after his brave and long battle with brain cancer.

Born June 3, 1945 in St. Paul, Minnesota, Jerry grew up in Calumet, where he attended Calumet High School. Jerry excelled at ROTC and held long standing records for marksmanship.

Upon graduating high school Jerry joined the U.S. Navy so he could see the world. After his time in the Navy, Jerry settled in Detroit, where he became a journeyman machine builder and made a career of being an expert problem solver in automation and assembly line installations. One of his proudest projects was being part of the team that put the assembly line in for the original H1 Hummer.

Jerry did considerable work for Ford Motor Company of Canada’s Windsor Assembly Plant, where he met the love of his life, Krystyna. Shortly after they married, the two of them settled where his new wife spent most of her adult life, in Windsor, Ontario.

Jerry was an avid golfer, fisherman, and exceptional bowler and enjoyed all three sports right up until his illness.

Jerry is predeceased by his parents, Irving H. Larson and Florence E. (nee Seppala); his brother, Jack (Pat) and brother, Jimmy; sister, Betty Ann; and his loving wife of twenty years, Krystyna (nee Skrodzka, Wasilewski).

Jerry is survived by his brother, Roy Larson (Nadine); sister-in-law Jo; daughter, Kim Farrell (Sean); step-sons, Andrew and Henry Wasilewski; grandchildren, Collin and Tyler Wasilewski, Samantha and Nicholas Farrell.

On September 3, 2020, reservations and personal face coverings are required to attend visitation from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

On September 4, 2020, reservations and personal face coverings are required to attend the Funeral Service at 10 a.m. at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841.
