Lynne Ellen Scott
MOHAWK — Lynne Ellen Scott, 79, of Mohawk, passed away on Dec. 19, 2021, after a brief battle from a second aneurysm that was inoperable. She was in Mississippi with her daughter while recovering from a previous aneurysm when the second bleed reared its ugly head.
Lynne was born on Nov. 20, 1942, to Sidney A. More and Gertrude Facklam Scott in Merrill, Wisconsin. She had one brother, Dean R. Baehman, and had four children.
Although she wore many hats, she said her greatest accomplishment was raising her children, always putting them first in everything she did.
After retiring, she bought her house in the U.P. of Michigan, where she made her home with many friends and community for almost 30 years.
She was a strong woman, with a great sense of humor. Just as strong in her faith, she often engaged in conversations that would last for hours. When you first met her, by the time you left, you felt like you had known her your whole life. Everyone called her “Mom.”
She loved her animals and you would always see her throwing out seeds for the chipmunks, fruit for her deer, and you could find her house lined with bird feeders, especially for her hummingbirds.
She spent her time researching genealogy and crafting for any and all occasions, often helping by buying back the things she donated to local charities. She said once she realized they were hers already, she always liked them better the second time around.
Lynne was predeceased by both parents and her only brother. She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Sandy) of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; and sons Keith of Biloxi, Mississippi, James (Amanda) of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and David (Shellie) of Gulfport, Mississippi; and a boatload of grandkids and great-grandkids.
I want to send out a special thank you to Bea, Annie, Joyce and Friends of the Elderly. Your friendships meant the world to her and she loved you all so much. Details of funeral arrangements and a celebration of her life are still in the making.
