Scott Michael Stevens
ST. CLAIR SHORES, MI – Scott Michael Stevens, 64, died on June 16, 2022. His battle with cancer ended in a draw. Scott was born in Hancock, Michigan on February 12, 1958, to Don and Mona Stevens. Scott attended Houghton High School and later entered the U.S. Army where he served from 1979-1981 as a Military Police Officer. He also served in the U.S. Navy from 1982-1994 as a cook and in Fire Fighting and Damage Control. As someone always looking to increase his knowledge, Scott continued his educational pursuits after his military service and graduated from Macomb Community College in 2006, where he earned two Associates Degrees (General Studies and Electronic Service Technology). An avid outdoorsman, Scott enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. One of his most passionate activities was to hand make custom fly fishing lures. He also enjoyed wood carving and took a great interest in creating unique handles for new and old knives. Scott is survived by his daughters, Ashley (Reid) DeVoge and Ginger (Bill) Sleeman; his son Sean Stevens; his brothers, Mark (Bev) Stevens, Phil (Nikki) Stevens, Guy (Miriam) Tuomi, Greg (Erica) Tuomi and Brendan Stevens; his sisters Lori (Robert) Stevens, Nicole (James) Lippert, and Danielle Tuomi; grandchildren Grant, Meg and Luke Hokenson, Kira and Cael DeVoge, Paige and Jacey Sleeman, and multiple nieces, nephews, along with his 3 dogs, Buoyu, Artie and Fallon. Scott was preceded in death by his parents Donald Stevens and Mona Tuomi. There will be a memorial service planned for Scott at a later date.
