Leroy Jamison

Nov. 15, 1935 - May 8, 202

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leroy Phillip Jamison, who departed this life peacefully at his home in Ontonagon on May 8, 2025, at the age of 89.

Born Nov. 15, 1935, to parents Walter and Minnie (Roehm) Jamison, Leroy married Catherine (Dairo) on Oct. 15, 1960.

Leroy worked at the Paper Mill for a time and then began working at the Red Owl. He then went to Pats IGA and after 26 years he retired at the age of 82.

He enjoyed sitting outside, watching the birds, spending time at the campground, following Ontonagon Gladiators sports, walking his dog, Bello, and loved his Green Bay Packers. He was a very proud dad, grandpa, great grandpa and great-great grandpa and loved to share the accomplishments of his family, no matter how small with anyone who would listen.

He will always be remembered in our community as a kind man, always smiling, happy, helpful and always took the time to stop and talk a minute or two, brightening the day of many. He was a friend to all that knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Cathy; daughters, Lynn (Jim Baron) Vincent, Lori (Scot) Milbourn and Lisa (Jim) Linna; grandchildren, Heather (Toby) Nyman, Tasha (Joe) Picotte, Jeremy Weisinger, Stephanie (Brian) Kleven, Stacy (Mike Morgan) Milbourn, Jamie (Mark Lehrkamp), Janele (Gianna Vastola) Tucker; great grandchildren, Joshua and Chayse Ollanketo, Jacob and Connor Picotte, Mystere Zimmerman, Sandra Weisinger, Delaney and Dahlia Kleven, Alek (Katie) Wendler, Vance and Jamison Linna; great-great grandson, Wyatt Wendler; bonus great grandchildren, Trent, Taryn, and Treysen Lehrkamp; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and Eunice; grandson, Jordan Jamison; son-in-law, Ronald Vincent; brother, Earl Vada; sisters, Lucille Voldarski, Elaine Sullivan and Arlene Burdick; and his dog, Bello.

We want to thank Regional Hospice, nurse Sarah, and home aide, Carrie, for their care and compassion these past few months.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 24, starting at 12 p.m. at Cane Court in Ontonagon.

In Honor of Leroy, if you have Green Bay Packers attire, feel free to wear it.

Cane Funeral Home is assisting the Family with arrangements.
