Frederick ‘Mick’ Jarvi
Frederick “Mick” Michael Jarvi of Gay, Michigan passed away on January 26, 2026 at Lahser Hills in Southfield, Michigan. Mick was born on December 9, 1941 in Detroit to parents Urho Jarvi and Leona (Leaveck) Longley.
Mick graduated from Cody High School in Detroit. He met the love of his life Suzanne “Susie” (Zopf) Jarvi and they were married on February 12, 1977.
Mick worked as a logger, mailman, and retired as a machinist. He was a passionate sportsman who loved fishing and hunting. He was very active as a member of the Lake Linden Sportsman Club; holding many officer positions and being the club’s president multiple times. He also participated as an instructor for the state’s hunter safety program. Other local positions held were the Fire Chief, firefighter, and constable for Sherman Township in the village of Gay.
While residing in Florida he was very active in his kid’s school activities, especially in the band community. He was always willing to give his support, assistance, and personal time for many organizations. He loved his family and this place he called home. He sacrificed so much during his life to ensure the ones around him were happy. We all love you and miss you but will never forget you.
Mick is survived by Susie Jarvi, his children Jenny, Mike, Michelle, Brian, Erik, Jason, and Mickey; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandkids, and great grandkids.
