Oldest vet to meet Obama

DETROIT (AP) – A 110-year-old woman believed to be the nation’s oldest veteran will soon be making a trip to Washington that includes a scheduled meeting with President Barack Obama.

Longtime Detroit resident Emma Didlake, a veteran of the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps during World War II, is scheduled to leave Friday. She’s also planning to visit the memorial of her other favorite president, Franklin D. Roosevelt.
