2013 was the 15th year for the Keweenaw County “No Kid without a Christmas” program and once again it was a great success. Thanks to the unbelievable support from the people of the Keweenaw, this valuable program was able to assist many families who otherwise may do without during the holiday season.

Once again coming through for the children in need of our area, the donors and volunteers made this program possible.

I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the many individuals who donated to the program without your help this program would not exist, as well as the following businesses and organizations: The Eagle Harbor Inn, Slim’s Caf, The White House Motel, Mohawk Sand & Gravel, the congregation of the Shepard of the Sea Church, Superior National Bank, Keweenaw Title Agency, Rinne’s Fuel and Excavating, The Phoenix store, the employees at Aspirus Keweenaw, the Keweenaw Zumba Group, Keweenaw Speciality Woods, The Tamarack Inn, At Last Gourmet Foods, The Antique Snowmobile Club, Copper Harbor ladies for the bake sale, Copper Harbor Improvement Association, Calumet Keweenaw Sportsmen’s Club, Sunset Bay campground, The Cliff View Bar, Methodist church Sunday school kids, the CLK Rotary Club, The Calumet Chapter of the Red Hat Society “Copper Island Divas”, the ladies of the Bethany Lutheran Church of Mohawk for their quilts, hats and mittens, The Eagle Harbor ladies for the parent gift bags, The Eagle Harbor Breakfast Ladies, Pasty Net, and the employees of the Department of Human Services for their help with identifying the families in need.

It is heart warming to see the generosity of the people and businesses of the Keweenaw, for they ensured yet again that the less fortunate children of our area were not forgotten and all had a wonderful Christmas. Each year our office receives many cards and heartfelt gratitude from the families assisted by the program. I would like to pass on this sentiment to you, the people and businesses who make it happen.
