To the editor:

We would like to express our thanks to the Hancock Honor Society for the food drive they did for The Salvation Army on May 17. Another cold winter took its toll on our food pantry. Thank you for spending time on a Saturday to help your neighbors in need, and doing it with a good attitude.

We would like to say a special thank you to Jason and Tanner for organizing this event, and to Sidney for taking care of carrying so much food downstairs. Thanks to all for preparing the collection bags, putting out the empty bags for the public and picking up and delivering the full bags to the pantry. Also, thanks for your help in sorting the food. As always, we can’t forget to thank our community who donated the food. Your generosity is always appreciated. God bless you all for you caring and hard work.
