Glad to pay taxes to local library
To the editor:
My wife and I are but part-time residents of Chassell and therefore don’t use all of the many benefits which the Portage Lake Library offers throughout the year. But we are glad to pay taxes in a community which supports such a good library.
Young families with children, who are usually least able to pay for services, are likely to be ones most hurt by withdrawing from the library district. The whole community would suffer.
